Shattered
(music & lyrics written by Carolyn J Messina)
I wish I'd seen it coming, cause it came way too fast
And all that's left are questions that I never asked
I'm standing at Your door, but I can't step inside
Until I know my fear and anger won't collide
The weight is getting heavy. It's getting hard to breathe
What more do You want from me? What more do You need?
I got a lot of questions. I’m not sure what to do
I’m breaking down searching for the breakthrough?
When everything falls apart. It’s all scattered on the floor
I just can’t help but wonder what I’m here for
When shattered moments bring me to my knees
Will they bring You close to me. Bring You close to me
They say that You won’t give me more than I can bear
But there's growing disappointment with each unanswered prayer
I'm not a patient person. I hope You have a plan
Cause lately I can't even find the strength to stand
When everything falls apart. It’s all scattered on the floor
I just can’t help but wonder what I’m here for
When shattered moments bring me to my knees
Will they bring You close to me. Bring You close to me
Rest in me .Rest in me. You say Come and rest in me……
Rest in me. Rest in me. You say Come and rest in me…
Cause When everything falls apart. It’s all scattered on the floor
Then my God whispers “this is what I'm here for
When shattered moments bring you to your knees
They bring you close to Me. They bring you close to Me

Push
(music & lyrics written by Carolyn J Messina)
Circle me God with your warm embrace. Bring a glimmer of hope a moment of grace
Cause I can't do this on my own
Please circle me God, let me rest within. Keep the bitterness out, cause you know where I been
And the darkness, this darkness won't leave me alone
So I push through the pain. Laugh when it hurts too much to cry
Breathe in a moment, breathe out a prayer, and try to get by
Just push through the pain. Tell a white lie
You ask how I feel, it's no big deal, I just tell you I'm fine. I'm fine
So I'm down on my knees , cause I just can't stand. I look to the sky, reach out for your hand
I wish my faith would carry me through
So I close my eyes, listen for your voice. But all I can hear is this deafening noise
And now I don't know what to do
So I push through the pain. Laugh when it hurts too much to cry
Breathe in a moment, breathe out a prayer, and try to get by
Just push through the pain. Tell a white lie
you ask how I feel, it's no big deal, I just tell you I'm fine.
I’m Fine. Tell em I'm fine. I’m Fine,
Sometimes I feel like You're furthest away when I need you
Sometimes I think that it's me walking out on You
So I push through the pain. Laugh when it hurts too much to cry
Breathe in a moment, breathe out a prayer, and try to get by
Just push through the pain. Tell a white lie
you ask how I feel, it's no big deal, I just tell you I'm fine.
Just I push through the pain. Laugh when it hurts too much to cry
Breathe in a moment, breathe out a prayer, and try to get by
Just push through the pain. Tell a white lie
you ask how I feel, it's no big deal, I just tell you I'm fine.
Just push through the pain
Laugh when it hurts too much to cry
Breathe in a moment, breathe out a prayer, and tell you I’m fine…
I’m fine.

Unbroken
(music & lyrics written by Carolyn J Messina)
When I fall into darkness, and all that I see
Is the image of all that I wanted to be
But that glimmer of hope is fading fast
An eclipse of the sins and mistakes of my past
So I sit here and wonder, what can I do
Is my faith enough to carry me through
But No matter how much or how loud that I pray
I just feel like there's nothing to save me today
Not today. no not today
So I cry Holy Holy Lord
Heal my brokenness Holy Lord
Can you hear my cry Holy Holy Lord
Make me Unbroken
Right now I don't know my left from my right
I'm hanging on with all of my might
Am I strong enough to fight what I can't see
Is there enough time to fix me, fix me, fix me
So I cry Holy Holy Lord
Heal my brokenness Holy Lord
Can you hear my cry Holy Holy Lord
Make me Unbroken
(instrumental over spoken prayer)
So I cry Holy Holy Lord
Heal my brokenness Holy Lord
Can you hear my cry Holy Holy Lord
Make me Unbroken

Stepping Stones
(music & lyrics written by Carolyn J Messina)
When trouble comes and things go wrong
And all that's left is to write a song
There is nothing I can do
But breathe and keep on pushing through
We all have crosses to bear
I guess sometimes we're just not aware
With demons and battles to fight
We pray to make it through the night
Cause there ain't no way around 'em
And you can't move them alone
Rocks in the road can be heavy
Unless you make them stepping stones
Many roads to travel along
So I keep on writing this old song
Rivers crossed and bridges burned
The broken hearts are lessons learned
Cause there ain't no way around 'em
And you can't move them alone
Rocks in the road can be heavy
Unless you make them stepping stones
I know we've all been told a million times
That God won't leave you on your own
He'll carry you gently when all your strength is gone
And bless you with the friends you need to carry on
Carry on
When trouble's gone and things go right
Clouds part way and the sun is bright
I look up and all I see
Is the Lord smiling down on me
When there ain't no way around 'em
And you can't move them alone
Rocks in the road can be heavy
Unless you make them…
Yeah, there ain't no way around 'em
I can't move them on my own
Theses rocks in the road are so heavy
So I’m gonna make them stepping stones

Lazy Day
(music & lyrics written by Carolyn J Messina)
I got time on my hands
Shoes on my feet,
A tank full of gas and a head full of dreams.
Where will they take me today ?
I got a 20 in my pocket
A tuned-up guitar,
Half written songs in a pile on the floor
Oh.... what to do today ?
Take a drive to the beach with the windows down.
It really doesn't matter no one else is around.
Sing a bunch of songs at the top of my lungs.
It's a lazy day, nothin needs to get done
So I'll pack my car,
Set my GPS.
Head down south where there's a little less stress.
That's what I'm gonna do today
(instrumental/skat)
Take a drive to the beach with the windows down.
It really doesn't matter no one else is around.
Sing a bunch of songs at the top of my lungs.
It's a lazy day, nothin needs to get done
When my feet touch sand
and the sea hits my toes,
That'll be the moment when it really shows
There ain't no better way
To spend a lazy day.
To spend a lazy day.
